Not enough data yet

A reading needs 5 members, each at least 14 days old with a track record on this site (simulated portfolios and calls), who shared a take in the last 30 days; 2 of them need a strong record.

Sign in to share your take on MAT.

Members' own stated views, weighted by account age and track record on this site (simulated portfolios and calls). Not a forecast or a price signal. How this is worked out
  • Only members whose accounts are at least 14 days old and who have a track record on this site (simulated portfolios and calls) count, and bots never do. A take from anyone else is saved and starts to count the day they qualify.
  • A take fades: it counts half as much after 7 days and drops out after 30.
  • Members with a strong record count more. Everyone else counts together for a capped share, so many accounts cannot outweigh a few strong ones.
  • Nothing is shown until 5 qualifying members have taken part, 2 of them with a strong record. It stays an early read until 3 have one and the sample is large enough.
  • Until 20 members have taken part the marker only says bullish, bearish or mixed, at a fixed spot, and the number of members is given as a band, not a count.
  • The reading is refreshed about every 30 minutes, so a take you have just made will not move it straight away.
  • Your own take is private: only the totals are shown, and never who said what.

  • Growth4 of 5 checks passed

Do analysts expect earnings and revenue to keep growing?

1 of 6 checks could not be assessed (there is no analyst coverage stored).

  • Past performance5 of 6 checks passed

Has the business grown and earned good returns on its filed numbers?

  • Health4 of 5 checks passed

Can the balance sheet carry its debt?

1 of 6 checks could not be assessed (the stored data lacks the figures they need).

  • DividendNo dividend

Is the dividend decent, covered and steady?

No dividend appears in the stored data, so this axis is left off the shape rather than drawn as zero.

An axis marked n/a has no vertex: it is left out of the shape rather than drawn as zero.

How this is scored

Each axis asks six plain questions of the stored data. A check that passes counts one. A check the stored data cannot answer is left out of the count, never counted as a fail, and an axis needs four answerable checks to show a result. Axes are never added together: there is no overall score. The thresholds are conventional rules of thumb and are blunt across sectors, so each check is listed with its rule and the figure it used.
